RuneMate User Guide

Using RuneMate

Finding Bots

You can find and add bots to your collection using either the Store page on the website, or by vising the in-client store by pressing the ⊕ (Add) button on the bots sidebar.

Adding an Account

You can add characters to RuneMate by pressing the ⊕ (Add) button on the accounts sidebar.

RuneMate supports both legacy characters (login with username and password) and Jagex Account characters.

Jagex Account

RuneMate supports importing characters from Jagex Accounts using their official OAuth2 API. Doing so allows RuneMate to launch clients in the same way that the Jagex Launcher does.

We understand that users may have security/privacy concerns about importing their account in RuneMate, so you can read more here about the steps we've taken to ensure you are protected.

Alias

This is how your account will be referenced in the client, so pick a name that doesn't reveal any sensitive information. eg. 'main' or 'skiller'.

Imported Character

This lists the characters imported from Jagex Accounts. You can import characters by pressing the "Launch Jagex Account Manager" button, which will allow you to login to your Jagex Account and import characters from it.

Bank PIN

Set this if you want RuneMate to be able to unlock your bank, or select "None" if you don't have one set, or don't want RuneMate to store this information.

Lamp Skill

This is the skill that RuneMate will try to use lamps from the Genie random event on.

Legacy Account

Select this to add legacy accounts (non-Jagex Accounts) to the client. Simply fill out the form and press "Add Account". This option will be greyed out if any data is missing.

In the client selector, you can press the RuneLite button to launch new new RuneLite client. If you selected a Jagex Account in the previous step the client will be launched as if it was launched from the Jagex Launcher.

Alternatively, you can ask RuneMate to patch the Jagex Launcher and use that to launch clients instead. Click here to read more.

5

Press Start Session

After pressing "Start Session" some Premium bots will offer variants that either allow you to try the bot for free for a short period of time, or variants that unlock additional features at an extra cost. You can read more in the Pricing section.

Pricing

RuneMate has two kinds of bots, Free and Premium.

Free Tier

The "Free Tier" allows you to use any Free bot on the platform for up to a total of 200 hours in the last 30 days. You can raise this allowance by upgrading to Supporter. The first $2 unlock some nifty perks on the community forums, but every $1 after that raises the limit by 100 hours. You can see how much of your quota you have used by looking at the bottom of the Upgrade page. Using the Trial version of a Premium bot will count towards your Free Tier allowance.

Premium Bots

Premium bots consume credits which can be purchase via PayPal or by being gifted from another user. Billing happen when you first start a bot, and then every hour after that until the bot is stopped. Billing continues if a bot is paused.

Some bots offer variants that offer additional features for an additional cost, you can select these just before you start a bot.

In the bellow example, Tombs of Amascut Mate has a base price of $0.18/hour, but for an additional $0.10/hour you can unlock raids above level 300.

Refunds

If a bot does not work correctly you can request a refund for the session from the Bot Author by navigating to the Sessions page and selecting the "Refund" option on the session. This will open a dialog between you and the Bot Author, where you may be required to provide a description of the issue and logs to help the Bot Author debug the problem. If the Bot Author agrees, they will approve the refund. To prevent abuse there is a limit on how many refunds can be requested.

Cancelling subscriptions

PayPal handles all of our billing, so if you wish to cancel a Supporter subscription you can read their support page for guidance.

Security Features

RuneMate Vault

The RuneMate Vault is a secure, encrypted storage container used to protect sensitive data on your computer. It works very similarly to a password manager: anything stored inside the Vault is encrypted using a dedicated secondary password.

Some RuneMate features need to store sensitive data (like accounts) so they can work across devices or sessions. To ensure this data remains private, we encrypt it using the Vault before it is ever stored on your machine or in the cloud. RuneMate stores only the encrypted Vault data, never the readable contents.

How the Vault keeps your data safe

1

Encrypted with a secondary password only you know

All Vault contents are encrypted locally using your Vault password. Without this password, the data is unreadable - even to us.

2

A secure random password by default

If you don’t set one yourself, we generate a strong, random Vault password automatically so your data is protected from the start.

3

Cloud storage, zero access

The Vault ensures that you - not RuneMate - hold the keys. Cloud storage gives convenience; encryption gives privacy.

4

Control stays with you

You can change or reset your Vault password using the padlock icon in the left sidebar.
